Below are some frequently asked questions about our annual Al Kayner's St. Patrick's Day Races. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact us!
Where is the start line? Downtown Bay City – Center and Adams! Clearly Marked!
What time do the races begin? 8k & 5k Run start at 11:45 – Walkers will start 2mins later
Can someone pick up my packet for me? Yes they can!
Can I register the day of the race? Yes- from 9-10:30am at the Scottish Rites Masonic Center – 614 Center Ave – google it –
Where can I park? Street parking downtown or any of the parking lots – they are all open on Sundays! Parking map will be available at the expo for viewing.
Is there a place to keep warm prior to the start? Yes- the Scottish Rites Masonic Center
Are there hills on the course? No – very flat in Bay City no hills - out and back course on city streets –very fast!
Do I need to return my chip after the race? No, we are using the new Chrono D Tag system, provided by Gault Race Management – they’re a disposable chip, keep it for your scrap book!
Are there bathrooms available? Yes- port-a-johns will be near the start/finish line area.
Are there finisher medals? Yes- marathon quality medals for every finisher
Are there awards? Yes – Awards are for overall, masters, and top 3 in each age group for all races, they will be MAILED 4 weeks after race….please be patient!!!!!
Is there a shower available? Yes- keep your bib with you and the YMCA on Washington and Tenth will allow you to shower at their facility – bring your own towel – Please!
Can I walk in either event? There is a 5K walk division. There is no walk division in the 8K – this is a run only event- of course you may do the Galloway walk/run method!

Can I use or bring: my dog, a stroller, in-line skates, and bicycles? No, due to our liability insurance we cannot allow these things on the course. If you choose to bring them anyway, you will not be eligible for awards and you will be asked to start in the REAR of the pack for safety reasons! Please help us!
Will you have refreshments at the finish line area? YES – plenty of refreshments!
If my family takes some really good pictures at the race and I want to share them –can I send them somewhere? YES – we are always looking for good pictures! Please contact the Race Director and she will assist you.
Where and when can I find results? Results are posted the afternoon of the race- at gaultracemanagement.com or on runmichigan.com .
I am walking with a group of friends, can we all walk side by side? Yes and NO- whether walking or running- please limit the across width to be no more than three across- at max-Two is Preferred! Some of the streets are narrow and you MUST allow room for others to pass! Be Courteous out there – we are all friends!
Are there any aid stations out there? Yes- you will find 2 water stations at Trumbull & 2nd St and Park and 2nd. Water only.
